Transit visa
A transit visa is issued to passengers making a transit stop at international airports of the United Arab Emirates. It is issued for a period of 8 to 96 hours (four calendar days) after receiving a transit visa at the airport. The validity period for entry is 14 days, the number of entries is one.
Passengers must also have a hotel reservation with them. This does not apply to citizens of Afghanistan, Iraq, Niger, Syria, Somalia and Yemen. Transit passengers are exempt from the entry fee for the first 48 hours; this period can be extended up to 96 hours for an additional fee of 50 dirhams UAE.
Tourist visa
To obtain a visa, sponsorship of UAE airlines, hotels and tour operators that bring visitors is required. The fee for the extension of tourist visas and their registration depends on the travel agency that covers your expenses.
Residents of the Gulf Commonwealth countries (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman) can enter without a visa.
Citizens of more than 73 countries and territories do not need a pre-issued visa to enter the UAE. On February 17, 2019, the agreement between the Russian Federation and the UAE on the mutual cancellation of visas came into force. From now on, Russians can stay in the Emirates for up to 90 days for six months (without the right to work or study).
According to the information provided by the Dubai General Directorate for Residents and Foreigners (GDRFA) and UAE-based airlines, passengers with passports issued by the following countries and territories are eligible for various types of visas on arrival - from a 14–day visa to a 180-day visa. Tourist visas can be single-entry and multiple entry.
Right to a 30-day visit
If you are a passport holder of any of the following countries or territories, you do not need to apply for a UAE visa in advance to visit the country.

The right to visit for a period of 90 days.
If you hold a passport issued by any of the following countries or territories, your passport will be stamped with a 90-day multiple entry visit visa, which is valid for six months from the date of issue and is good for a total stay of 90 days. To renew, you can contact the typing center before your existing visa expires. You can extend a visa of any type, but only once, for 30 days.

This visa is issued free of charge.
The right to visit for a period of 180 days
If you have a Mexican passport, you are eligible for a multiple-entry visa for 180 days, which is valid for six months from the date of issue and is designed to stay for a total of 180 days.
14-day visa on arrival
Indian citizens who have a regular passport, or:
1. A visit visa issued by the United States or
2. A green card issued by the USA or
3. A resident visa issued by the UK or
4. Resident visa issued by the EU,
They can get a visa on arrival for a period of no more than 14 days, provided that the visas or green cards are valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in the UAE.
Pre-issued visa
If you do not fall into any of the categories listed above, you can apply for a pre-issued visa to visit the UAE either through the airlines you are traveling with, or through the travel agency or hotel where you will be staying. Currently, tourist visas are issued for a period of 30 or 90 days. However, the UAE has announced that 60-day tourist visas will also be issued soon.
Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into the UAE.
Multiple-entry tourist visa (valid for 5 years)
This is a service under which a multiple-entry (5-year) tourist visa is issued, allowing its holder to stay in the country for a period of (90) days, which can be extended once for a similar period. In total, the holder of such a visa can stay in the UAE for no more than 180 consecutive days.
The procedure is performed electronically within 48 hours after receiving and accepting a service request that meets the conditions. Family members can also get such a visa.
If tourists do not return on time and there is no information about their whereabouts in the UAE, the immigration authorities impose penalties of $ 2,500 as a one-time fine and an additional penalty for each day of visa delay in the amount of $ 56 for the first day of delay and $ 28 for the second and each subsequent day. Fines are applied starting from the 31st day from the moment of the tourist's entry into the country.
Required documents for visa processing in the UAE:
- a color, scanned copy of the first page of the passport, the validity of which must be at least 6 months after the end of the trip (Format – JPG file (in JPEG format), the page must be clear and crisp, the file size is not more than 120 KB);
- a color, scanned photo on a white background 3.5x4.5 (3x4) (The format is a JPG file (in JPEG format), the page should be clear and crisp, the file size should not exceed 120 KB).
Necessary conditions and documents for obtaining a multiple-entry visa:
- color personal photo on a white background;
- the presence of $ 4,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency in a bank account for 6 months;
- a valid medical insurance document approved in the country;
- round-trip tickets;
- proof of residence (hotel/residence address);
- valid passport for at least 6 months.
Visa to visit (Visit visa) -
A visit visa sponsored by the private sector, friends, family and relatives.
If you have relatives or friends living in the UAE, they can sponsor your visa to the UAE. They can apply for your entry permit at the office and the relevant General Directorate for Residence and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) of the Ministry of the Interior. Its offices are located in every emirate.
This process may take several days. After the visa is issued, your sponsor must send you a copy of your permit by fax or e-mail. He must present the original permit to the airport.
When you arrive at the airport, you will be able to pick it up from there. You need to get a copy of your entry permit before you leave your country.
Visa requirements for visiting the UAE by family members
Tourist visas for immediate family members, relatives or friends can be obtained by a resident sponsor residing in the UAE, provided that he earns the minimum established salary.
Short-term visiting visas are valid for 30 days, while long-term visas are valid for 90 days.
These visas require the sponsor to make a stipulated deposit with the immigration authorities. The deposit is refunded upon presentation of a document confirming legal departure.
The visa can be extended for an agreed fee. The inviting person must visit any authorized press bureau and reprint the application, then visit the residency department and send it along with the necessary documents to the visa department. After that, send a copy/original of the visa document to your relative and present the original at the airport.
